Who can use Hyphenated
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms with you. Hyphenated is offered in the United States only. You may not use it if you’ve been banned before or if US law bars you from using it.
Your account
Give us accurate information, including your real birthday, and keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us right away at [support email] if you think someone else is using it.
Your content
You own the videos, sounds, comments and other content you post. By posting, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transcode, display, distribute and promote your content in connection with running and improving Hyphenated, and to let other users view, share, duet and reuse your content (including your original sounds) using the features we provide. This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept for legal reasons, backups for a limited time, or content others have already duetted.
You confirm that you have all the rights needed to post your content, including rights to any music, and that it follows our Community Guidelines.
Music and copyright
Only use music you have the rights to, sounds from our royalty-free library, or original sounds made available on Hyphenated. We respond to copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated. See our Copyright Policy.
What you can’t do
- Break the law or our Community Guidelines.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate or exploit anyone, especially minors.
- Scrape, bulk-download or reverse-engineer the service, or use bots to create accounts or fake engagement.
- Interfere with the service, other users’ accounts, or our security.
Moderation
We may review, limit, remove or refuse content, and suspend or terminate accounts, when we believe it breaks these Terms or the law, or to protect users. We use automated tools and human reviewers. You can contact us at [support email] if you think we got something wrong.
LIVE
You must be 18 or older to host a LIVE. LIVEs may be monitored and ended at any time.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.
Disclaimers
Hyphenated is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We aren’t responsible for content posted by users.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hyphenated won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.

Changes
We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Hyphenated means you accept the new Terms.
